Do you remember the initial day of your first Intel Teach course? Were you training to be a Master Teacher? What course was it? Where were you? What expectations did you have? In my case, I can remember the computer lab vividly. The layout of the room, the other teachers…the extra-large MT manual. Whew! It still gives me the chills today. I must tell you, however, that even though I was anxious, I knew this training would make a strong impact on my teaching style and more importantly on the way my students learn.
Now let’s fast forward to the final day of the course. You have just wrapped up the showcase module and reflected on the course. Did your perception of 21st century learning change? Were you overwhelmed with the new information and proud with the feeling of accomplishment? For me, my head was spinning with new ideas, projects, and concepts, and I knew that if I could make this work in my classroom I would be a different teacher forever. Guess what? I was.
Since that training, I’ve taught all the workshop courses as a Senior Trainer and as a Master Teacher taking something new away each time. Whether I’m learning a new Web 2.0 tool or a better way to write an essential question, I’m consistently growing because of Intel Teach, and I hope you are, too.
