JoAnn expressed a frustration that I know many of us (or our colleagues) have felt before: little to no access to techonology resources in our schools! Before I was transferred to a magnet school for technology, I was at a school that had as little technology as JoAnn's school seems to have. I know that this cannot be unique to our county, so where better than this Intel community to find out how to address this problem?
Sure enough, after a simple search for "grant writing," I found a post specifically about grants for educators. The fun part is that this is a part of the community, which means it's a conversation that is added to by people all over the place. Imagine the resources we could have if we spent a little time - maybe over the summer?? - getting some grants together for our schools? Even my technology-saturated school is lacking in a couple of things I would like to see there (a scanner for the media center, for example!). Most other schools are missing out on just about everything else, and goodness forbid a teacher is located in a mobile unit and cannot easily get "carted" technology out to their classroom(s).
