If you have a Principal (or Mid-Management) Certification and one year of practical administrative experience, you qualify for the online Lamar Superintendent Certification. Students are required to complete 18 hours of coursework as outlined in their degree plan.
Each course includes field-based experiences, problem based learning and action research. Professors are educators with superintendent experience and instruction is based on best practices in online education, is highly interactive and maximizes opportunities for productive participation.
Professional portfolios are developed within the program with continued availability upon completion and candidates are prepared for superintendent certification in Texas. Course content is aligned with the SBEC Superintendent Competencies and 12 hours of this coursework may be applied to the Lamar University doctoral program in Educational Leadership.
Affordable tuition is $250 in-state and $292 out-of-state
