I thought I was done adding apps ... then you share idea Sketch. How'd I miss something this fun? I like the simplicity of how a mindmap can be created with this app. I appreciate the ability of creating a screenshot so "save the mindmap." I like how similar it is to OmniGraffle - a simple mindmapping tool I have installed on my school MacBooks.
Let's not forget the simple apps like readers.

E-Readers are just a simple and different medium for distributing literature. Many of the classic literature is free for download! Literature circles could really benefit from e-reader's. Having a large and simple distribution of text along with the ability to perform nondestructive annotation of text is a great feature.
I just got a new phone so this forum has been an eye opener for me. I saw the Kids Colors and Alphabet as well as Numbers and Math, which all look like fun for young learners. The one I really like is . It's $1.99 and has notes and sheet music along with an eight tone piano. My four year old granddaughter loves this.
It's available for both the Android and iPhone and seems to be more for a pre-school or kindergarten environment, although I use it only at home.
Are you using e-readers in your school? There is a great conversation in the book talk group. You may want to join in!
Thanks for sharing the Kindle app!
We are not using e-readers at this time. My school has been working for about 2 years now to prepare for a 1:1 classroom environment. I had started working up a grant proposal in the event that we didn't receive the funding we needed, but it appears we are on schedule to start our 1:1 program next year. With 1:1, I am not sure I will still finish the grant for readers, as we can use our 1:1 devices as digital readers!
