The following concern was brought to Customer Support's attention by one of our Senior Trainers:
Module 8 - seeing reason Activity 2. This is where we as instructors show different sample maps to guide teachers in how to form questioning strategies as such.
The sample maps that used to be in the powerpoint that we did as a whole group are no longer available meaning they aren't on the viewer nor on the trainer powerpoint. I wouldn’t question it, but in the viewer's Master Teacher notes it still says "Your instructor will show you some practice maps".
I've worked around it, but was just curious to know if we need to address this or not.
Hi Feli, Yes, it's true we no longer have sample maps in ppts but we have provided a document in Facilitate ==> Teaching Thinking v. 2.5 Documents and Resources. It's called:
Text for Practice Online Tool Projects
It is found with the Documents and MT resources: http://engage.intel.com/docs/DOC-1514
It would be great to know if this meets the need.
oops, I spoke-wrote too soon. The document refers to setting up practice maps for course participants. The senior trainer is referring to instructions for sample maps for modeling questioning strategies when working with students and their maps. It's true the map images are no longer in ppts because we felt that the best source is to use the "live" sample maps in the unit plans or project ideas. We will look at an addition to the digital manual to make this clear -- in a facilitation tip. Hats off to the ST for calling it to our attention.
