The teacher that influenced me the most was a college instructor. I have an art background and this was the first class I had to take with this particular person. He informed us that he was not there to entertain us, often jumped to harmful conclusions, and tried to "sweet talk" us at the end of the semester when it came time to fill out his evaluation. We started the class with probably about 20 students and ended with about 8-9. I have always said that he influenced my teaching the most because I have always wanted to be the exact opposite of him and his teaching style. Maybe this wasn't the type of story that most teachers would have, but he was my prime example of someone who should not teach but was.
The teacher who influenced me the most was my high school French teacher, Madame Koch. Not only was she vibrant, funny, and inspirational, she truly loved each of her students. Each of us in her class found a personal connection with her and strived to please her whenever we could. I've definitely tried to emulate that with my own students and still send her Facebook notes every now and then about how my classroom is impacted by her so many years ago.
The teacher who had the greatest impact in my life was a college professor. He invited me to have a study carrol in his lab. He told me he understood I wanted to be a teacher and wanted me to have authentic research opportunities. His comment was that this would help me engage students more in science class. I was allowed to design and perform experiments - only needing permission if they used equipment outside of the lab. (On the down side, he also told me to plan on becoming an administrator so I could make money and leave the classroom.) His name is withheld because of this suggestion.

The teacher who had the most influence in my life was my father. He remained my teacher from grade three till grade five. He taught me how to read and write. His ways of teaching waere so good that one can understand his points so easily. He encouraged me to write every thing that comes in my mind. Now today when I.m a teacher too, find so much respect and love for him although he is no more with me. His teachings will always remain with me as long as I live in this world.
Your post and Aman's reminded me of a professor I had at UT who engaged me so much that after taking one of his classes I audited two others taught by him. He was a Classics professor and I took his Greek Mythology class as an elective. I had become interested in Greek Mythology during my senior year of high school when Latin was added to our curriculum. I was the Greek Mythology expert on our certamen team, but it wasn't until I took Dr. Francis' class that I could really see all the connections, intricacies, and double-meanings embedded in this great body of literature. Dr. Francis' was simply entrancing.
Though all the teachers of mine were hardwrking and sincere with their profession, but my Maths teacher Ms. Gulzar has a great influence in my life, because of her hardwork and sincerety I never get a problem in maths, she always use to say that practice will make you perfect.
The most influential teachers in my Life. Why I wrote teachers? First and foremost I really acknowledge the efforts of my mother, known to be my first teacher for the foundation of life she nurtured and enculcated with us, her children. The love , discipline and the education. It is also impossible to be trained without the support of our father who inculcated in us the discipline. My elementary and High school teachers who moulded us to become a better person. Lastly but not the least , my teacher Dr. Joe Ferrariz, my spiritual adviser, my God father and my model about work ethics as a teacher. He set standards that each student must met. thoug its sometimes difficult to met the standards but it taught me to work for the better and aim for excellence in the field of teaching. Thank you SIR , for the experience of working with you in the Department of Education and for trusting me to handle the graduate school classes in the university.
