*Details from the original message have been changed to reflect the new dates for our community upgrade. The original date (Monday,May 29th) had to be pushed out due to complications and we want to get it right the first time.
The Teachers Engage Community is undergoing a platform upgrade. This is exciting news that will bring a new and improved look and feel, as well as improved functionality. The end result will be a better community experience for all our members.
The upgrade will require us to implement a content freeze on the weekend of June 2nd. At that time, you will be able to view community content, but you won't be able to create new content and interact. The content freeze is scheduled to be lifted by afternoon on Monday, June 4th (U.S PDT). We will keep pushing information to you in a variety of ways to make sure that you have the latest news.
To stay informed, you can get information from a number of sources:
As we progress through the upgrade, don't hesitate to reach out to us with questions, concerns, and feedback by emailing email@example.com.
The upgrade will bring many changes, but we'll still continue award technology prizes to our members every month. Take a moment to check out our current incentivized threads, including:
A community is only as strong as its members, and we truly appreciate your participation and support. We look forward to interacting with you in the new improved Teachers Engage Environment!
We will be hosting two informational webinars after our upgrade to go over changes in features and functionality resulting from the platform upgrade. We will discuss new features and functionality, as well as changes to how members create content and interact with one another. Join the Theresa, Marshal, and Julia to cover the basics of the upgrade and become an expert member.
June 5th: The first webinar will be at 6 am PDT/ 8 am CDT/ 9 am EDT, and the second webinar will be at 6 pm PDT/ 8 pm CDT/ 9 pm EDT. Registration is not required, but if you register in advance you will receive a calendar invite and a reminder email as the webinar draws near. They will be recorded sessions so you can view them later if you can't attend in person.

Today, May 29th, we were anticipating an exciting upgrade to our community that would give all members added functionality and a more modern interface. Unfortunately, technical complications incurred and we need to postpone the upgrade until next Monday, June 4th to make sure to get it right. This means we need to go though a content freeze over the weekend of June 2nd. I will let you know the exact timing of the community content freeze as soon as I know. We anticipate sometime Saturday pm through Monday afternoon. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

This is exciting! Thanks Marshall and Theresa-- the doc is adding to the suspense!
The upgrades really look major. I love the promise of a "better community experience". There's one little thing that caught my attention, though-- it's the @mention. I have a feeling that it will make it easier for me to refer friends to a particular discussion, document or group-- which I do a lot in Engage because of the rich content. While I already got used to the sequence of going to the page, copying the URL from the address bar, and then pasting it on a link in a message I compose, having a quicker way to create the link is surely helpful, and definitely... encouraging.
Counting down to June 4...
