The option of Google+ for 13 year old students is great. My district just changed login names and passwords this past week. Previous student names and passwords were NOT "Google compliant." There were spaces included in login names - and passwords were not all appropriately challenging. The message given to teachers was "these changes are to prepare to add student accounts to our district Google Apps." I'm not holding my breath (as I've been promised this for over two years) but am ready to shout"Hallelujah!"
I just did a presentation on the Google Research tool check it out! dhttps://docs.google.com/a/crcsd.k12.ia.us/presentation/d/16JOUyIQsDtqxkpgGK2WvX2BU6DmSjcJUCuRVli3_tgE/present#slide=id.p
Sharon, this is a wonderful presentation and an easy way to get teachers (and students) excited about doing research! Thank you for sharing! Your lower grade teachers will benefit as well, especially since the CCSS focus so much on informational text. This presentation would be very useful for teachers looking for ideas on how to help students conduct searches and research.
Do you have a system to share out wonderful PD resources like this in your school?
