As you can see in the blog post linked above, we have a number of activities and games planned for both the party and the week that follows it. Now, we want to know how you would like to celebrate the upgrade.
Reply to this discussion with your ideas for celebration activities, and if we pick your idea we'll name the activity after you and give you a "shout out" on the community main page and on Facebook.
It would be so much fun if everyone would submit a picture with a happy sign or sign of congratulations!!!! Even a video of them celebrating. It looks these pictures or videos could be saved or attached here. Put some of those into a movie to share online or at the party too.
I'm be getting my submission together shortly.
I love Carolyn's idea and maybe we could treat it like a "New Year's Eve party". We could ring in the New Engage and there could be a countdown to the unveiling of the new upgrade. The pics could be crazy pics/vids could show folks making noise and shouting/displaying Happy New Engage. We can sip virtual champagne and make our Engage resolutions for next school year (like attending a webinar, updating our avatar, sharing a resource etc.). Just a fun thought....
I think I need a little virtual champagne right now since I found a gold coin. I am normally watching QVC on Sunday afternoons but this is a whole lot of fun and I am finding gold instead of spending it! So I am still obsessed with my New Year's (New Engage) theme so I say we have a few of the Intel folks put up their baby pics or pre-Intel pics and we have to decide who they are now that they have been upgraded. Could be a matching game...Ha Ha
Ha ha! I just found my second coin and learned that I have something in common with Susan Gauthier! I have been an avid QVC watcher (and shopper) for some years, but I gave it up cold turkey last November. So, Susan, you GEAUX! I am sitting here in Louisiana (where Susan lives, though she's not at home this week) and I'm also experiencing ISTE virtually through resources she contributed to the community.
We need to celebrate by sharing the Engage Community with others! I know there will be some activities designed to encourage this, and I like those ideas! Be sure to share with others that they can create a group space here in the community. Many members deliver professional development to others or at least collaborate with other educators. They could all benefit from a group space!
Love this group of educators!
Ah yes...I see you have beat the tv shopping disease that I have....LOL! Hope you are enjoying the really hot Louisiana weather. One of my favorite things to do in Shreveport is to get pie at Strawns. I think there is one on Youree Drive but then what isn't on Youree. They push the strawberry which is good but the coconut is my favorite!
Good idea! Notice on the home page of the Engage community- to the right side- there is already a twitter hashtag (#Engage) and two scheduled chats there weekly! Hope to "see" you there! You can follow the community feed on Twitter and also there is a facebook page!
Here's my best wishes. I had wanted some better music, but couldn't the music I really wanted to use. (I had tried to embed, but it wouldn't let me.) At any rate......LET'S DO CELEBRATE!!!!! YAHOO!!!!! OUTSTANDING!!!!!
Here is my celebration link.. GreetingsfromCO on Vimeo
Hasn't the world become smaller because of Teachers Engage? Why don't we greet Teachers Engage in our native language or mother tongue dialect? Any celebratory line will do (e.g., Long Live Teachers Engage!). We can even add our national flag to our greetings. Mine would look something like this:
Or maybe we can put up a world map here where we paste our flags and when we mouse over the flag the greeting pops up complete with text and audio! Calling all techies-- what's that tool/site that allows us to add multimedia comments to a picture?
