Keith, I'm so glad to see you have joined the community! If you need any assistance in starting or participating in discussions or sharing resources, just click on my name when it is a link and send me a private message. I'm happy to assist!
Also, everyone: On the opening page of "Teachers Engage," you will see a link to join the "Teachers Engage University." It's an easy area where you can learn more about how to use the features of the Community- not actually courses at a University!
First of all, thank you for the reminder of the geography of our great world! This is truly an exciting community with educators sharing from all over the world.
I love Glogster as well, and I think you will find that many others have shared their thoughts on it here in the community. Anyone can search for specific topics such as that simply by putting their terms into the search bar.
Thank you for sharing your resources!
There are many resources here in the community shared by others regarding game programming, though I'm not certain that the applications you use have been referenced. I hope you find some good information here since you have already shown yourself to be a sharer!
I'm sure there are many ideas shared here in the community which can help you to integrate technology! One good way to get started is to attend a free webinar! Check out the schedule here.
"See" you in the community!
My name is Lori. I am an elementary music teacher from Missouri. I teach kindergarten through sixth grade. We are a Title I school and this year will be receiving ipads for each student 3-6 grades. I am excited for the new ways I will be able to teach my students this year!
I am taking a tech course through Northwest Missouri State University RPDC. I have been introduced to this site through this course. I am excited to learn how to use this site to evolve my own teaching practices and learn from others.
One thing that would make my job easier is the complete digital overhaul of my classroom. Kids are growing up and using technology in their lives and I believe we need to be using technology in our classrooms if we want to relate instruction to the real world.
Hello! My name is Jennifer Frazier from Saint Joseph, MO. I have taught for 25 1/2 years. I teach k-6 vocal music and love it. I teach with the Saint Joseph School District. I will use this information that I learn to help the children with thinking skills in my classroom also. This will all help with the common core that we are moving into. Thanks for giving us information and outlets to use. I love that this gives us a world wide data base to draw from. Thanks again. Jennifer Frazier
I am Joe Suchan from Missouri. I have been teaching for 17 years. I have a Master's degree in Educational Technology and have taught an introductory technology course for teachers at Northwest Missouri State University. I have been fortunate to have participated in several technology pilots including handheld computers and netbook computers. I am currently teaching in a classroom that has a 1 computer to 2 student ratio. One thing that would make Project Based Learning easier is to have access to detailed lesson plans. Guidance and support that will help save time would be appreciated. I am looking forward to learning and sharing with this community.
I am Gregory McKnight from NC. I am a regional professional development leader for the NC Dept. of Public Inst. What would make my job easier is more resources (video) for participants to reference around what teaching the common core looks like. Participants in my sessions are really interested in analyzing lessons around best practices. Looking forward to any suggestions that I can share with my participants.
Good afternoon. My name is Steve Masyada, and I'm a K-12 Social Studies consultant with the NC Department of Public Instruction, and a PhD student at the University of Florida. I am focused on the implementation and support of Common Core and the state Essential Standards in the new school year. Prior to June, I spent 9 years teaching high school social studies in Levy County, Florida and most recently a year teaching 8th grade social studies in Wake Forest, North Carolina. I am excited about joining this community!
