I have been teaching in an 1 to 1 school for 2 years. I find going digital to be exciting. Our school uses Edmodo to mange the assignments both handing out materials and collecting them.
Tools I love are Joli Print for the students who do not have internet at home.
Cool Text for creating logos
Of course all of the Google Aps and the Intel Tools
I have always said that the list may change and be updated as the years go by.
Right now, my favorites arelivebinders, symbaloo, dropbox, yoki and of course google docs. I know that will change as time goes by as new resources are being developed daily. Everyone will use what works best for them and that list will also change as everyone becomes more comfortable using those resources.
It's so important to keep asking that question so that we can share and glean from each other.
Just think of all the great resources that this engage community can share.
Finally I find my last coin . I must told you that I am a Social Media addicted who want to share students knowledge integrating web 2.0 tools and apps in XXI Century Education . For this reason I managed and develop many educational projects like ,, eSafety4eTwinners - web 2.0 and social media use eTwinners 4 preventing school dropout " eSafety4eTwinners Project: eSafety4eTwinners project in school year 2011-2012
accepted in the exhibition organized by Eos and Microsoft at Innovation Forum in Education
and also was selected in 10 best social media practice in Europe and it is included in the brochure realised by ElearninngEuropa Info and the project ,, Different, but equal " Pagina lui DUMA CORNEL LUCIAN - Proiect international derulat sub egida Anului European 2010
I really love Edmodo, since it is so good for students and has privacy/safety features. Love Symbaloo and other bookmark tools such as Diigo and Scoop.it for sharing among adults. There are so many and I believe there has been a bit of a slowdown in development of new ones. Can't wait to hear about some of the new info from ISTE!
MAny schools are going 1:1 with iPads, and for productivity there, I love CloudOn, a free app that gives you full versions of Word, Excel, and Ppt through Dropbox.
ANd I never use PowerPoint any more. I always opt for Prezi!
I love symbaloo for organization of tools and I just found this one Symbaloo | Access your bookmarks anywhere on twitter from ISTE filled with goodies that I will be checking out ASAP! Which tools do you like on this link?
Edmodo, drop box, Google docs, delicious, Today's meet, and livebinders are all important to my classes. But JoinMe is very useful--it allows me to remotely share my screen or take control of their machine over the internet. It allows me to help from a distance. Helpful! The other is sidevibe allow you to have a webpage over a webpage so you can give them a worksheet to fill out while they are using different resources. Check it out!
The coin was for the birthday bash and you had to find coins to get an entry for prizes...the contest is over and of course Engage had some fabulous prizes. So Edmodo that was mentioned earlier is like facebook but for educators. My school uses this site to post homework, class info etc. We use this instead of teacher web pages. The site allows students to connect to teacher classes and then parents to connect to students. It is a communication tool for a school community. We only used for posts this last year but this year we will venture into polls, homework assignments (in the site) etc. I have never used Dojo so I hope someone can help you out with that one.....
The school district I have been with for 6+ years has recently introduced My Big Campus. This is set up like Facebook for the Teachers and their students. I would say 30+ teachers are using it and getting great results.
