Marshal, how right you are! Dyane is one of the most talented, hard-working and gracious people it has been my pleasure to know. This community is better because Dyane is a big part of it. Congratulations Dyane, you absolutely deserve the award! Heck, I think she should be the USA's Teacher of the Year!
Glen, I share your thoughts here about Dyane. I feel very blessed to know her and to have learned so much from her over the years. She is an exemplary teacher and so deserving of the title of "National Teacher of the Year". My vote goes for Dyane!
Congratulations, Dyane on your title of 2013 Kansas Teacher of the Year! I know you will leave footprints wherever you go.
Those were a critical reading activity to prepare us for reading The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. I had the students research how the terms "Good Old Days" and "Coming of Age" are referenced in today's culture - They could use poems. songs, news articles, magazines, book titles, etc. We used PowerPoint to type in our findings and print out the slides as handouts to ultimately compare our ideas with each other on the butcher paper.
