Cindy- is is not a project idea regarding collaboration - but in Designing Effective Proejcts there is a project - El Misterio de los Mayas you might want to share that resource.
My daughter is a Spanish teacher and focuses on problem based learning in her classroom. The latest project that her students have been assigned is to create a webpage on Spain, places to go, people to see, the history, etc. The students have to also create audio of basic directions needed by a tourist to get around. If you are interested in collaborating with her, she can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you are looking for multimedia projects. . . . take a look at some of the activities that were done by students on this link http://www.itascaschools.com/peacock/pmediacenter/video/projects/classroom/index.htm. If you scroll down near the bottom, you will see one specifically in Spanish. Keep in mind, however any of the projects could have been done in Spanish rather than English.
I was so excited that our Spanish teacher attended my session on comics- she fell in love with http://www.makebeliefscomix.com because she could type any language in the text boxes. She created comics for the students to read and now they are going to the lab to create their own. The French teacher saw this and now she too in using the site. Can you say domino effect! I would suggest checking out the comics thread in Engage for more ideas. I will try to post some of the student examples in the comics thread.
