We're excited to announce the creation of a new group in the Engage community. The Virtual Exhibit Hall is a group created for community activity that is commercial in nature. We realize and value that the Engage community is diverse and counts among its members individuals who work for organizations that serve schools, districts, states, and other education agencies, and that these members' organizations provide products and services that relate to Engage content. We encourage such participants to be active in the community because they have an interest in helping education and are often former educators with much to contribute. They can both add to regular discussions and can answer questions about their products or services better than anyone else.
We also recognize, however, that members from these organizations at times post material that is explicitly promotional and outside the context of the discussions and activities occurring in Engage. You may be such a member and have wondered if it is appropriate to post this material in Engage, or you may be a member who has seen this material and flagged it for administrative review. This new group is designed and established specifically so that members may post this type of material in a space within the community dedicated to that purpose.
We also have created a Commercial Activity Policy to provide direction for members that want to contribute this material and members that may find material posted in Engage that they feel should go in the Virtual Exhibit Hall.
