Wag More, Bark Less

Version 5

    What I did last summer.

Inspiration- Over 20 higher education faculty members from a variety of higher education institutions in West Virginia attended training summer 2010 at Marshall University. Everyone is inspired. Yeah! Now what?

Perspiration – In September I decided to employ the training and start spreading the love. I wanted to teach the Teach Thinking with Technology course in my undergraduate Instructional Technology Course EDUC 2201.  I began to redesign my course.

Revelation- EDUC 2201 is a required course in teacher education program. I get them all. Now rigorous, instructional planning exists where an emphasis on tools was previously the focus.   My action has the impact to dramatically improve the quality of our program and our candidates.

I am the only person at Fairmont State University who has explicitly used the training, including formally integrating the Intel content, to improve their teaching and their students’ learning.

As far as I know I am the only person in the West Virginia who has integrated any of the content into their work. The Teach Thinking with Technology content is now integrated into EDUC 2201 at Fairmont State University with over 50 students enrolled in two sections this semester.
