Captain Planet Foundation Seeks Applications for K-12 Environment-Based Projects
The Captain Planet Foundation is accepting applications from K-12 schools for environment-based education projects to be implemented in the spring and summer of 2014.
Seed grants of up to $500 will be awarded to high-quality educational programs that help children and youth understand and appreciate the world through hands-on projects designed to improve the environment in their schools and communities. Grants are intended to serve as a catalyst to getting environment-based education in schools and to encourage youth and communities to participate in community service through environmental stewardship activities.
Grants are generally awarded to U.S.-based schools with an annual operating budget of less than $3 million. To be eligible, schools or sponsoring agencies must be recognized as tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
