What I See/What I Think

Version 2

    Learning Objectives

    Students will:

    1. Know the difference between an observation and an inference
    2. Understand that patterns, over several observations, can be used to make predictions
    3. Be able to make accurate predictions based on evidence found in patterns noted from observations

    Background/Context

New thinking in science education focuses on helping students develop skills and experience with the science practices by having them actually doing science. When students analyze and interpret they are really looking for patterns that emerged from their observations. Observations lead to student developed questions, which leads to further inquiry into the topic or other experiments.
