In secondary school, students partake in numerous communities associated with interests and social issues, such as sports, music, fashion, gaming, politics, academics, the environment, abuse, and more. As their understanding of how their lives and choices affect themselves as well as others solidifies, they need guidance on how to best participant and lead in their communities.
What book do you recommend to secondary school students to help them develop well thought-out approaches to living and working in communities?
A good read that I have heard several administrators talk about using with students in secondary as they develop their leadership skills is: the Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens. I purchased the book for my 11 year old daughter and plan on reading it this weekend.
