Stem Snacks – How can photography motivate students?

I was thrilled to see this National Geographic photo of a Sandhill Crane.

The reflection almost looked like one bird flying under another bird. I know some students are visual learners. I believe images such as this may engage visual learning students. I've wondered how such images can be used in other subjects to engage students in the learning process.

Please share your ideas on photographs:

      • I've wondered what other “image of the day” sites you use. What content area do you match the images with?
      • How can visual images like this photograph help with the Language Arts Common Core?
      • How might you incorporate having students take and present images related to your core?
      • How can images like this help a student become more interested in STEM and related careers?
