I think blended learning requires the Exceptional Student to demonstrate knowledge in different ways. I think the biggest challenge I see for Exceptional Students (Special Education as well as Gifted) is based on their ability to think critically. Providing multiple opportunities to demonstrate learning is one way teachers can help Exceptional Students demonstrate knowledge. One of the biggest challenges I see for students is realizing there can be more than one right answer or way to show what they have learned.
- What tools have you used to help Exceptional Students show their learning?
- How do these tools differ from the testing used to evaluate learning and teacher success?
I strongly believe that technology tools enhance the learning experience. I always took the time to provide whatever tools and/or software programs that allowed my students to demonstrate what they could do, what they could design, develop etc.
It's being that facilitating person who finds those tools for their students!
