Intel Teach Live- April 2013- Students Generating Visualized Data-Infographics

Click here to view the webinar archive recording.

Infographics are becoming more prevalent in the educational community.  Students are using infographics to help visualize data and research through graphics. Have you used infographics with students? What are the benefits? How has using infographics changed the way students look at data?  Share ideas and other resources for using infographics in the classroom. Post examples of infographics that you and or your students have created.  Also share how your students analyze, evaluate and synthesize information in infographics. Don’t forget to provide the data that you used for your Infographics. If you create an Infographic from someone else’s data, we will enter your name twice in the drawing. If you create an Infographic your name will also be entered twice in the drawing.  Also share any great Infographic sites that you come across.

Make sure you include the following in your Infographics:

The Visual: This refers to the colors, graphics and icons used in designing infographics

The Content: This included the text, statistics, time frames and references.

The Knowledge: This refers to the facts and conclusions to convey the overall message of the story

Share your ideas between April 22nd and May 24th  to be entered into a drawing for a $150.00 Amazon Gift Card that you might want to use towards the purchase of several informative books on Infographics such as:  Infographics: The Power of Visual Storytelling, The Power of Infographics-Using pictures to communicate and connect with your audience; Visualize This-The Flowing-Data Guide to Design Visualization and Statistics

Note: This drawing will only become active when a minimum of 10 participants respond, which means in some cases, the drawing will take place after the above mentioned date. For a complete description and eligibility of Engage community drawings, click on the Intel Bunny Person.
