It is said “a picture is worth a thousand words.” Can pictures really tell stories about who we are as educators and or how we teach and educate students?  Can Photo Apps be used to enhance teaching and learning in the classroom? Can Photo Apps capture digital snapshots of student learning?

In this activity, we want you to use your favorite Photo App or Photo Website and then share how you used that app in your classroom with your students.  If you used a Photo App or Website to crop a picture to be used as a writing prompt; walk us through the process of doing this. Or if you used a Photo App or Website to demonstrate symmetry, explain how you did this and include snapshots of the activity.

At the end of this activity, we will have a collection of educational Photo apps, Photo websites along with great ideas of instructional implementation.

Remember to use the below template to post the required information such as Name of the App,Name of Website, Subject, How you used it etc. We also want you to post a digital snapshot of how you used that app and any helpful notes or reflections about the app or website you think may help others.

      • Name of App and or website
      • Operating System:
      • Content Focus:
      • How you used the App and or website in the classroom? With Educators?
      • Reflection on App/website:
      • Reflection on Activity:

Share your ideas between August 20 and Sept 20th to be entered into a drawing for a $150.00 Amazon Gift Card that you might want to use towards the purchase of digital tools that would allow you to collect student digital artifacts.

Note: This drawing will only become active when a minimum of 10 participants respond, which means in some cases, the drawing will take place after the above mentioned date. For a complete description and eligibility of Engage community drawings, click on the Intel Bunny Person.
