Kids Speak Out on Student Engagement

Answers from the students: "What engages students?" A very interesting read. What might be the top 10 categories your students choose?

          Khadija,

This is a wonderful activity for a Professional Development day. Using the Intel Thinking Tool Visual Ranking would make it easy to have the information presented without putting anyone in a sensitive position.

My top three would be : Bring in real world, Visuals, and Choice.

Real world.... that is what education is all about. Relate it to jobs!

Visuals... it is important to "see" what it is while you are listening.

Choice... today's students do not want to be told what to do, so if they have some choice, they will be more ready to listen.

Is there something not on the list that would make it more complete?

          Stacey
