Learning Pathways- October- December 2014- World-Wide Hour of Code Roll Call...

In a collaborative effort to increase awareness of computer science in schools, Intel Teachers Engage is joining the crusade to help reach 100 million students by the end of December 2014. Each year more than 44 million people of all ages have participated in an Hour of Code. This is a one-hour introductory course designed to demystify computer science and show that anybody can learn the basics of computer programming. The goal is to have students take part in grade level specific activities. Code.org and other organizations have created these materials for participants to use during the National Computer Science Week (December 8-14) or before or after. These are very simple, easy to follow lessons that are teacher and student friendly.

Every educator who hosts an Hour of Code for students will receive 10 GB of Dropbox space for their personal use or a $10 Skype credit as a thank you gift from Code.org

So if you will have an active part in helping reach 100 students by the end of December 2014, participate in our World-Wide Hour of Code Roll Call.  Tell us who you are; where you are from; when and how you will participate in an Hour of Code.

Participate in our Roll Call between  October 15- December 31, 2014 to be entered into a Choose Your Prize Drawing of a prize worth up to 175.00.

      Choose your prize:

You now have the opportunity to choose your own prize. If we draw your name for this thread you will then have the opportunity to choose what prize you would like to have for your classroom or instructional practices use. We will contact you and you will have a choice from a variety of prizes. After you choose your prize, you would need to return to this thread and post what you chose and how you plan on implementing it in your classroom or with other educators. After you have completed your usage post, we will send you the prize of your choice.

Note: This drawing will only become active when a minimum of 10 participants respond, which means in some cases, the drawing will take place after the above mentioned date. For a complete description and eligibility of Engage community drawings, click on the Intel Bunny Person.
