The rapid developments in technology over the past few years have created a fertile ground for bright innovative ideas to flourish. With the rising imperative to prepare young future citizens and empower them with essential “Future World skills” such as computational thinking, design mind set, tinkering, coding etc. Niti Aayog has invited applications from eligible schools, organisations and individuals to apply for the three major schemes under Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) including establishing tinkering laboratories in schools, establishing new incubation centres and scaling-up established incubation centres.
Atal Tinkering Labs - AIM will provide a one-time establishment grant-in-aid of Rs.10 lakh for establishing Atal Tinkering Laboratories (ATL) in schools for VI to XII across India and another Rs.10 lakh for each lab over a period of five years for operational expenses. This way each school will receive Rs.20 lakh for the tinkering lab.
Last date to apply for the grant is 17th July 2016 .
